A DM Water Plant (Demineralized Water Plant) is an advanced water treatment system designed to remove dissolved salts, minerals, and impurities from raw water to produce high-purity demineralized water. It is widely used in industries where water quality is critical for processes, equipment protection, and product consistency.

The system operates on the principle of ion exchange, where undesirable ions such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, chlorides, and sulfates are removed and replaced with hydrogen (H⁺) and hydroxyl (OH⁻) ions. These ions combine to form pure water (H₂O), resulting in water with very low conductivity and minimal dissolved solids.

A typical DM plant consists of cation and anion exchange vessels, along with associated piping, control valves, and regeneration systems. For higher purity requirements, mixed bed polishers may be added to further enhance water quality.
